An Out Of Favour Durbari

Now there are some people who never fail to astonish me. Not necessarily in nice way always.

Other than being a Sonia Gandhi hater, Tavleen Singh’s other full time occupation is that of being a journalist. She used to be a field reporter earlier and now is a columnist.
Tavleen Singh
Sometime earlier she was caught, with her dog crapping on the streets of Mumbai by an Municipal official. On being reprimanded she said made excuses like there wasn’t any signage asking not to litter & there weren’t any dustbins around.

Recently, in one of her many sermons to the world she tweeted about how Delhi citizens need to keep the city cleaner. When reminded of her earlier behaviour she retorted saying, ‘Next time my dog needs a crap, I will get her to your doorstep.’

Extremely witty!

More about her below:

Her father was a high ranking army official residing in Lutyens and friends with the great Khushwant Singh. She got her first job in Mr Singh’s publication. This in anyone else’s case would be nepotism. But not for Tavleen.

She also recently wrote a column stating that Bharat is not Swachh as Dalits have been employed in this job and are inefficient.

Reading her columns one might believe that Tavleen Singh has a strong dislike for political dynasties. But her keeping mum on her best friends like Naveen Patnaik & Vasundhara Raje raises doubts.

Her dislike for Muslims is well known. What’s not known that the father of her only son (a author in his own right) is a late governor of Pakistan.

Lavasa has been under a lot of controversy for various reasons but Singh has always chosen to defend it through her columns. It may be interesting to note that she has been living in with Gulabchand, chief developer of Lavasa for 25 years. These columns have been carried without any disclosure. Her then editor Shekhar Gupta at Indian Express too needs to share the blame of keeping the readers in the dark.

I don’t generally like to comment on anyone’s personal life. But for someone who is elitist & self righteous in her columns all the time, needs to sometime be shown her hypocritical self.

And lastly about her dislike for Sonia Gandhi. We are all aware of how much the family since Indira Gandhi’s time loves its coterie. It is amusing to know that Tavleen Singh herself was part of Sonia Gandhi’s coterie for a long time in the 80’s. For some reason they fell out & since then Tavleen Singh has termed the coterie a Durbar.

Tavleen Singh is nothing but a bitter, out of favour, durbari.

On an funny note to end some one has opened a parody account as Tavleen Singh’s Dog. You can follow it here, https://twitter.com/TavleensDog
